Charlotte Arline Goplin, age 102, of Pigeon Falls, died on Saturday, May 16, 2026 in the Pigeon
Falls Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls.
Charlotte was born June 20,1923 to Melvin and Cora (Evenson) Johnson in Pigeon Falls, WI
She married Edgar Goplin on June 4, 1949 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pigeon Falls.
They were the first couple to be married in the new church. The following day they carried their
Goddaughter, Margaret Ausderau (Hanson) to baptism.
Charlotte worked in Eau Claire and at the Farmers Store in Whitehall before taking time off to
raise their family and help on the dairy farm. Once they completed raising the family, she
worked at Whitehall Ag Service and Cenex both in Whitehall.  She also drove for ARDC after
her retirement taking people for appointments. She always said she drove old people, but most of
the people she drove were younger than she was.
Charlotte was full of spunk and a little sassy (sometimes more than a little). She always had an
answer or comeback for anything.
She and Dad went to church and then off to the Rainbow Restaurant in Blair for breakfast and a
ride to who knows where.  They always knew someone wherever they went. When there was
something going on she said, “I suppose we gotta go.”   When you went to visit, there was
always coffee and cookies.
Charlotte loved her Gin & 7’s. She tried it one night when she worked in Eau Claire. She wasn’t
sure what to order one night when the girls went out. One of the girls ordered a Gin & 7, she
tried it and drank it ever since.
Charlotte is survived by her children,  Nathan (Judy A.), Judy K. Goplin (daughter-in-law),
Naurine Schroeder, Juline (Dave) Schroeder and Darline (Jim) Knudtson;   nine grandchildren,
Tammy (Jeff Korb), Robert (Nikki) Goplin, Jamie (Darcy) Goplin, Shane (Melinda) Goplin,
Chris (Nicole) Schroeder, Tanya (Colin) Malaney, Kevin (Heather) Schroeder, Karyn Schroeder
and Michelle (John) Deering.  She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-
grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar, on September
1, 2015; a son, Nolan; a son-in-law, Mike Schroeder; a great-great-granddaughter, Ariyah
Goplin West; a brother, Wally Johnson and many aunts and uncles.
Charlotte loved cardinals. Now every time we see one, will think of her.
Sad to say, we will no longer hear the Uffda May and Oh boy, Oh boy!!  She had a good run!!!
She earned the title of “Best mother-in-law ever”
A huge thank you to the Pigeon Falls Health Care Center for the awesome care she was given
over the last several years.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in Peace Lutheran of
Pigeon Falls with burial in the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery both in Pigeon Falls. Pastor
Gregory Ofsdahl will officiate.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in
Whitehall and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
