The Common Council met in special session at City Hall in the City of Black River Falls on March 15, 2023 at
6:00 P.M.

The Street Superintendent advised the DOT indicated it would cost around $90,000 to resurface the
Main Street bridge and they have no plans to do so.

The City Administrator thanked the Street Department for the assistance assembling the new chairs for
the Council Chambers. We receive new street banners every year and looking to stay with the historic
theme this year and use a rendition of the Union Place building on the new banners.

There was discussion on the request from Jackson County for a crosswalk mid-block from their parking lot to the
courthouse. Sheriff Duane Waldera presented information on visitors and courthouse employees crossing at
that location from the parking lot and the need for a crosswalk. An engineering firm will be consulted for design
requirements to insure if a crosswalk is approved it is established in compliance with all state and local
regulations.

The April Common Council meeting will be on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 due to elections being held on
Tuesday, April 4, 2023.
