(McFarland, WI) — The McFarland school board has accepted the resignation of the high school associate principal who used a racial slur. Former administrator Anne Nichols wrote in her resignation letter that she said the “N-word” while asking a clarifying question when a student told her another student had directed the offensive term at them. Nichols says she recognized her mistake and apologized but she said she wants to be clear that she has never used a racial slur against a student or any other human being in her 33 years as an educator. W-I-S-C/T-V reports that more than 600 people signed a petition calling for her firing.
