It is with unimaginable grief that her loving family shares the October 26, 2026, passing of
Dakota Marie Louise Johnson.

Dakota was born October 22, 1989, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. She lived every day of her
life vibrantly, embraced every moment, and never held back her fire, her passion for life, or her
love for her family, friends, and animals.

Dakota always had a strong work ethic. After earning her high school diploma, Dakota’s career
of choice was in health care. She served in many ways, most notably as an aide at Dove
Healthcare, as the first house manager at Raven House, and she helped countless of individuals
with their sobriety and life journeys as a faithful friend and mentor. She was always helping
others, was loved by many, and will be impossible to forget.

Dakota was a mix of beautiful and complicated parts. Her family asks that Dakota’s life not be
measured by her struggles but by the endless amount of love she has left behind.

Dakota is survived by her beloved son Aadyn Johnson-Genna; partner Lucas Skaar; ex-husband
Cory Genna; parents Lars (Tonda) Johnson and Dawn Lauscher (James Streit); grandparents
Ritchie and Dee Collins; siblings Aja Lauscher, Barb (Brandon) Silbaugh, James (Nikki)
Johnson, Bobbi (DJ) Benson, Trude (Matt) Ottum, Heather Streit, Isaac Streit, and Tiffany Streit;
nieces Lexi, Lilly, Jazabelle, Lilah, Audrey, and Freyja; nephews Keegan, Kian, Kellen, Oliver,
and Archer; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and her aunt Cate, who she shared a very
special relationship with.

Dakota was preceded in death by her grandparents Don and Louise Johnson.
Our hearts are broken that you are no longer with us in body but memories of your free spirit and
the love and laughter we shared will forever remain. And for your mom, the tender memory of
your special butterfly kisses will always be cherished.

Black River Falls, WI. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00
