Debra Kay Nelson, age 67, of Blair, died on Monday, September 26, 2022 in her home.
Debra was born June 1, 1955 to Edgar and Ruth (Schmidt) Nelson in Arcadia, WI.
Debby graduated from Blair High School in 1974. She attended Wisconsin Rapids Technical
School for early childhood care. Debby moved to Elgin, IL, where she worked for many years as
a machine operator for Hoffer Plastics and at the Walmart in St. Charles, IL. She was an active
member of Community of Christ Church. Debby loved her collection of Elvis memorabilia,
reading and jigsaw puzzles. She was an avid Packer fan. Debby loved Christmas, where she
loved decorating, buying and wrapping presents for family and friends.
Debra is survived by her twin brother, Darrel (Cathy) of Blair, Ramona (Elias) Quintanilla,
Rockford, IL, Renee (Victor) Morales, Elgin, IL, Ilene Coffeen, Stevens Point, Eugene Nelson,
Bardwell, KY, Nancy White, Huntley, IL and Dennis (Linda) Young, Cleveland, MN. Debby is also
survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by siblings Philip Nelson, Carol
Rutherford, James Young, Jon Young and infants Bonnie and Charles Nelson, niece, Melissa
Rutherford and nephews Randall Young, Gene Scow, Terrance Young and Benjamin Nelson.
Also preceding her in death are sisters-in-law Diane Young and Barbara Nelson and brothers-in-
law Kenneth Coffeen, Harold Rutherford and many aunts and uncles.
There will be a celebration of life Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Preston Town Hall, 1102 East
Broadway, Blair, WI. from 1 to 4 PM with a memorial service at 2 PM.
