Dorothy B. Servais, 97, formerly of Arcadia, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2023,
surrounded by her loving family at Oakwood Health Services in Altoona.
Dorothy was born in Arcadia on March 28, 1926, to Peter and Michaelina (Staholski) Urbick.
She was united in marriage on August 30, 1943, to Elmer Servais at Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Catholic Church in Arcadia. Dorothy loved taking care of people and children and poured her
heart into working as a CNA at the hospital and nursing home in Arcadia. Her family was her
whole world and you could tell whenever she was with them. She enjoyed cooking, baking,
reading, gardening, and playing cards. Dorothy was a member of Holy Family Parish and the
PCCW, where she volunteered for various fund raisers, luncheons, and the yearly Fall Festival.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Coy; granddaughter, Shauntae Servais; 3 great-
grandchildren, Ariana (AJ), Bryan (Jasoline), and Chyanne (Alex) and their children; nieces and
nephews that she loved as her own; and many friends and other relatives.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband: Elmer Servais; daughter: Karen; parents;
several brothers and sisters; and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Holy Family Parish,
Arcadia, with Reverend Kyle Laylan officiating. Visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. until
the time of mass at church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Glencoe. To
