Robert Smith, 54 years of age, from Eleva has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau
Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 7th offense.
On December 12, 2024, at approximately 7:40 pm a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper was notified of
a possible intoxicated driver at Kwik Trip on Golf Road in the City of Eau Claire. During contact with
the driver, the Trooper observed signs of impairment. A subsequent investigation, including
standardized field sobriety tests, showed that Mr. Smith was operating a motor vehicle while under
the influence of an intoxicant.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with operating while under the influence of an intoxicant
7th offense. A warrant was obtained, and Mr. Smith was transported to a local hospital for an
evidentiary chemical test of his blook and then to the Eau Claire County Jail.
