Edna L. (Quast) Wagner, age 91, passed away peacefully on January 13 th , 2024, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, where she resided for the last year.
Edna was born on June 12 th , 1932, to Henry and Ruth (Currier) Quast in Neillsville, Wisconsin. She grew
up on the family farm in rural Neillsville. At age 14 she traveled with her father to Montana, where he
worked in the wheat fields while Edna worked in the kitchens. When she returned, she worked for a
family in Owen, Wisconsin as a nanny. Later she moved to Manitowoc where she met her husband and
worked for Mirro Aluminum Co.
Edna and Roger Wagner were married in December 1956. They owned and operated a gas station in
Francis Creek, Wisconsin until they retired. Roger was a great mechanic and Edna attended to the
vehicles.
Edna and Roger spent their time participating in numerous clubs in the area, traveling, racing stock cars,
and hunting. They had a huge and beautiful garden and led a very active and full life.
Edna’s wish was to live near her siblings in Black River Falls, which she was able to do the last two years
of her life.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ruth, brother Henry Quast, sister Bertha (Ernie)
Cram, brother Louis Quast and her beloved nephew Ernest “Junior” Cram.
Edna is survived by her husband Roger “Bucky” Wagner of Manitowoc, WI; sisters Betty (Gilles) Oliver of
Alma Center, WI; June Christopherson of Alma Center, WI and brother John (Betty) Quast of Black River
Falls, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She will be deeply missed.
Her last year at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home was a joy to Edna. She loved the staff and especially
liked all the activities.
A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
