Eight Wisconsin schools are being recognized for outstanding academic performance and efforts to close achievement gaps.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction announced the 2026 Wisconsin Blue Ribbon School winners, honoring schools in two categories: high academic performance and success in narrowing achievement gaps among students.

Among the honorees are Wauzeka Elementary School and Prairie View Elementary School in Beaver Dam, along with Little Chute Middle School. All three earned recognition in both categories.

Grantsburg Elementary School and Dunwiddie Elementary School in the Port Washington-Saukville School District were recognized for high academic performance.

Hillcrest Elementary School in Waukesha also received high-performing honors, while Oostburg High School and Fall Creek High School were recognized for closing achievement gaps.

This is the second year Wisconsin has presented its own Blue Ribbon School awards, following the end of the national program in 2025.

State Superintendent Jill Underly congratulated the schools, recognizing the students, educators, staff, families, and school leaders who contribute to their success.
