Eileen G. Harrison, 75, of Galesville, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023, suddenly at her home.
Eileen was born on April 11, 1947, to Irvin and Gladys (Johnson) Semb and grew up on the family farm in
Pigeon Falls, WI. After graduating from high school, Eileen was united in marriage to Roger Harrison on
June 15, 1968, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Whitehall. Together the couple had three girls: Amy,
Sandra, and Bobbie. Eileen was employed for many years at TRW Automotive in Ettrick where she
enjoyed chatting with her co-workers on the production line. When her girls had big ideas, Eileen would
often put up a fuss about it but would soon realize she shared their enthusiasm although she could
never fully admit it. One particular idea was her garden. She didn’t need it or want one but her
daughters tilled a small area and provided the plants. Soon her small garden was full of hearty
vegetables. She later asked for an expansion. She loved to share her produce and made numerous
zucchini breads to share with family and friends. She always brought white bread diagonally cut peanut
butter sandwiches for family get togethers because “they go”. She enjoyed playing games, cards, doing
her circle words finds and crossword puzzles and her Nintendo DS. Her family credits her knowledge of
many things to her love of reading which she passed on to her daughters. Eileen was a dependable,
honest and willing mother. Her family will miss that she will no longer be just a phone call away, even if
she couldn’t answer her cell on the first try. She’d call you right back!
Eileen is survived by her children: Amy (Mark) Thompson of Fond du Lac; Sandy Harrison of Athens;
Bobbie (Nate) Nelson of Holmen; grandchildren: Courtney and Sawyer Thompson and Liam, Camden and
Ansley Nelson; sister, Irma (David) Kapanke: brothers: Gary (Anita) Semb, Ivan Semb, Roy (Barb) Semb,
Peter (Jeanne) Semb; special dog: Billie; and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister: Helen (George) Behne.
