(Madison, WI) — Governor Tony Evers won’t deliver his budget speech til later this evening, but Republicans are already blasting it as too big and too expensive. State Senator Steve Nass yesterday said the governor is looking to ‘fleece’ taxpayers out of the state;s record seven billion-dollar budget surplus. The governor has previewed key pieces of his budget over the past several days, and all of them look to spend more money. Nass said he expects Republican lawmakers to ignore most of the governor’s requests and create a reasonable state budget. The governor will deliver his full budget package to lawmakers this evening in Madison.
