An early Friday evening blaze in Tomah has damaged multiple buildings. The call came in about 5:20 for a structure fire on the 1100 block of Superior Avenue. Once on scene, crews found the fire affecting four older buildings and fought flames higher than the ladder trucks used in fighting blaze. The Ho-Chunk Nation posted on their Facebook page that the fire was on the same block as the Ho-Chunk Nation’s Museum and noted that several individuals acted quickly and safely to pull nearly 90% of the collections out of their facility. Eleven fire departments and law enforcement agencies assisted on the scene until approximately 5:00 this morning. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
