Gerald Wayne Redbird, Mąą Hohąąp Pįį – “Brings the Light”, passed away October 4, 2023.
He was born to Thomas “Frank” and Linda (Cloud) Redbird Jr. in Black River Falls, WI on May 27, 1976.
He enjoyed spending time with his numerous family and friends. He loved to make people laugh and feel
safe, understood, and, most importantly, loved. He would always go out of his way to help those that he
loved. He enjoyed playing games, including horseshoes, pool, cribbage, poker, 6-5-4, Skip-bo, PO-KE-NO,
and other card and dice games.
Many remember him as the DJ and bouncer in Dimensions in Tomah, WI. He prided himself in being able
to make anyone dance with the music he played. He made many lifelong friendships during his 20+
years doing what he loved.
His father, Thomas “Frank” Redbird Jr., and many other family members and friends preceded him in
death and greeted him with loving arms on the other side.
He is survived and remembered by his mother, Linda Marie Redbird; Brothers, Tony Lee Redbird,
Thomas (Denise) Redbird III, Curtis (Bethany) Redbird, and Tony (Chris) Redbird; Sisters, Chandra (Greg)
Ekern, and Cecelia Bede; Sons, Thomas (Brandi) Redbird IV, Christopher Thone, Charles Redbird, Stephan
Redbird, Gerald Redbird, and Bruce Redbird; Daughters, Cora Redbird, Carmen Redbird, and Grace
Redbird; a nephew Adam Decorah; Grandchildren, Ryler “Lil’ Bill” Redbird-Talk, Cameron Redbird,
Thomas Redbird V, Hilda Redbird, Marcella Greengrass, and Priscilla Greengrass; along with many valued
aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
Funeral services for Gerald will be held at noon on Saturday, October 7, at the Redbird family
homestead, W8822 Decorah Rd, Black River Falls. Visitation will be held from 10am until the start of
services. Burial will follow at Decorah Cemetery.
