Harold W. Mades, age 96, of Edgerton, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at
Huntington Memory Care, Janesville. He was born in Sparta on July 5, 1927, the son of John
and Lydia (Becker) Mades. He was a 1945 graduate of West Salem High School. Harold
married Jacqueline J. Ray on August 5, 1960, in Pigeon Falls, Wi. She preceded him in death
on January 8, 2024. He worked for JATCO as a transport driver for many years until his
retirement in 1986. He enjoyed reading, hunting at Dan’s cabin up north, fishing, woodworking
and watching Brewers baseball. He loved going to his grandkids and great grandkids athletic
events. He was a member of Teamster Union #579 and St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Edgerton.

Harold is survived by his 3 children: Ann Anderson of Janesville, Dan (Kathy) Mades of
Janesville and Frederick (Heidi Kelly) Mades of Waukesha; 5 grandchildren: Tiffany (Jarrod
Ryan) Anderson, Taylor (Matt) Paschke, Kyle (Tiffany Trowbridge) Mades, Austin (Tori) Mades
and Brendan (Tabitha Groh) Mades; 2 step-grandchildren; Jennifer (Tony) Ray and Kelly (Nate)
Lancaster; 7 great grandchildren: Chase, Ella, Hudson, Adley, Liam, Vincent, Wesley with
another great grandson, Jett due soon; sister-in-law, Beverly Mades; brother-in-law, Mike (Jean)
Ray; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his
parents; wife, Jackie; and siblings: Viola Garbers, Maynard Mades, Vernetta Fish, Marlin
Mades, Waldemar Mades, Dean Mades and Lorraine Hunter, and an infant brother, Dean.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at ST. JOHN
EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Edgerton with Rev. Carl Seeger officiating. Burial will be
at Rock River Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of
service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John Evangelical Church, 207 E. High St.
