Harris Allan Bersing, 83 of Taylor, WI, passed away peacefully June 23, 2025, surrounded by
his loving family. He was born August 31,1941, in Black River Falls, WI, the son of Menford and
Harriet Bersing. Harris graduated from Taylor High in 1959. After graduation he worked for
Sampson Heating & Air Conditioning. In May of 1978 he opened C&H Heating & Air
Conditioning with Chuck Kastad, running the business for 20 years until he retired.
Harris would meet the woman he would consider his “Loving Significant Other,” Shirley Zinn,
on a chilly morning when she called for help when her furnace quit working. This is where he
became a step-father to Shirley’s 4 children, taking on the role of a step-parent, sharing 55
wonderful great years as a family together. Harris was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener,
griller, cooking the best sweet corn and chicken at all family functions.
Harris is survived by his step-sons Eric (Shirl) Zinn and Alan Zinn; step-daughters Gail O’Brien
and Linda (Dick) Matti; grandchildren Amanda Olson, Jordan (Karine) Zinn, Jared Zinn, Dillion
(Brooke) Zinn, Joleen Matti, Casey (Lisa) Matti, Anthony (Tracy) Matti, Richie O’Brien, Natasha
O’Brien, Jason Zinn, Rachel (Scott) Miller, Jennifer Wagner, Sheila (Chris) Murray and Jason
(Kelly) Spurlin; and a loving great-grandpa of 23 great-grandchildren; nephews Steve (Randi)
Bersing, David Bersing; nieces Karen (Curt) Burmeister, Sandy (Wayne) Quam, Gina (Rob)
Nordness.
Harris was preceded in death by his father, Menford Bersing; mother Harriet Bersing; brothers
Orville Bersing, Vernon (Marilyn) Bersing.
Harris was a kind and gentle man who touched the lives of many. He will be forever in our
hearts.
A luncheon celebrating Harris Bersing’s Life will be held at the Taylor Community Center, 420
2 nd Street, Taylor WI, July 26, 2025, from 12-4pm. Join the family in celebrating his life with all
your great memories of him.
