The Highground Veterans Memorial Park, Neillsville, will host a gathering for Veterans, their families, and the public Sunday afternoon. The casual gathering will offer resources and information on post-traumatic stress or PTS, how to begin conversations between a Veteran and their family and friends on PTS management, and how to open the door to sharing military service experiences. The hope is that these discussions will help build better, trusting relationships between these loved ones. For Veterans and families, this is a unique opportunity to make connections with others who are or have been “in your shoes”. The gathering hopes to also provide a safe space to connect with a peer-support system that can help during those times when a person may feel alone in their loved one’s struggle with PTS. The Highground Veteran and Family PTS Peer Support Group is organizing the event. It’s this Sunday afternoon, at The Highground, Neillsville, starting at 2:00.
