Jack David Workman

Jack David Workman, age 36, fell into a peaceful sleep and woke up in his eternal
home with his Savior on July 18, 2025.
Jack was born on October 31, 1988, in Milwaukee County to William (Bill) Broadberry
and Carol Workman, who instilled in him a lifelong love for cooking and reading. He
graduated from Oak Creek High School in 2007 and went on to earn his bachelor’s
degree in Criminal Justice and Safety Studies from UW-Oshkosh in 2012. He later
completed his master’s degree in Emergency Management from Capella University.
Jack thoroughly enjoyed all of his work in security over the years, where he made many,
many friends. He started his journey working security at Summerfest. Throughout
college, he worked as a bouncer at the French Quarter in Oshkosh. He went on to work
at Froedtert Hospital, where he quickly rose to the rank of Lieutenant. He always loved
to tell stories about his work in security.
After earning his master’s degree, Jack took a position with Hospital Sisters Health
System in Green Bay. It was there that his life changed when he met Mykayla Wade,
the love of his life. The two were inseparable and had begun planning their future
together. Wanting to give back to the community in a deeper way, Jack left healthcare
and took on the role of Emergency Management Coordinator for Jackson County. He
loved community outreach and embraced every opportunity to serve.
Throughout his life, he always kept family and friends as his most important priority. He
would always make time to see friends and loved ones throughout the state. If anyone
ever needed help, Jack was the first to offer. You could often hear him saying “Hi! I’m
Jack! I move things!” He always loved hard and loved strong. He bonded with many of
his friends through their mutual love of horror and sci-fi movies. He was even able to
convince some to watch them for the first time; it turns out some of them aren’t too bad.
Jack is survived by the love of his life, Mykayla Wade; brothers Dale (Deja) Conklin, Eric
(Teresa) Exner; Nieces Lily and Penny Conklin; favorite pretty pitties Gunner and Roo;
many very special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) Broadberry and Carol Workman.
A visitation open house will be held at Torgerson’s Funeral Home in Black River
Falls on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. A celebration of Jack’s
fantastic life will be held on Saturday, July 26 th in Milwaukee, WI from 9:00 a.m. until
11:00 a.m. Please check the Torgerson’s Funeral Home website for an announcement
of the location. The Celebration of Life is officiated by Pastor Clay Salmela. Friends are
encouraged to remain afterwards to share their memories and stories of this wonderful
man.
