Jackson County Behavioral Health is hosting two free virtual presentations on Thursday, September 10th, focused on helping adults better understand the rapidly changing challenges facing today’s youth.
The first presentation, “High in Plain Sight: Current Drug Trends,” runs from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and is designed for professionals and school staff. Nationally recognized speaker Jermaine Galloway, known as the “Tall Cop,” will discuss emerging drug trends, vaping, concealment methods, drug culture and warning signs of substance use.
That evening, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the community is invited to “The New Reality: Social Media, AI, Drugs & Youth Safety.” Dave Gomez, a retired law enforcement officer and former School Resource Officer, will discuss social media traps, sextortion, artificial intelligence, current drug trends and online and real-world safety concerns.
Both presentations are free and held virtually, making them accessible to parents, caregivers, educators, professionals and community members.
