The Jackson County Historical Society invites the community to… stitch together history with a special event next month. “A Quilt Display, Show and Share,” is set for Saturday, February 21st, from 10:00 to 11:00 and again from 2:00 to 3:00, at the Old Ford Garage, 34 South First Street, Black River Falls. The event is part of America250, commemorating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and highlights the Historical Society’s mission of preserving local history. Organizers say visitors can explore the society’s quilt collection and are encouraged to bring a quilt or quilt-related item of their own for showing and sharing. Items at any stage of completion—or in any condition—are welcome, along with questions and quilting knowledge. There will also be a sharing basket for orphan quilt blocks, fabric scraps, and unfinished projects. Unclaimed items will be donated to charity. Admission is free, donations are welcome, and the event is open to all ages. The Jackson County Historical Society will be announcing additional America250 programs throughout the year.
