Jospeh Ray Konkel, born on 09/12/1968, Arcadia, WI was called to his eternal home on Monday
04/20/2026, in Whitehall after a brief illness. He was the son of Anna (Lisowski) and Roman Konkel.
Joe’s journey on this earth was one marked by a strong work ethic, playful adventures, and much love.
His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives he touched just
by being Joe! We ask that you remember Joe for the profound impact he has had on the lives of those
who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Joe is survived by his daughter: Amber (Kurtis Beyer) and the light of papa’s life, his grandson Evan. He is
further survived by his special friend Mary Myskewitz, the love of his life and her daughter, Jennifer
Balfany (Tony). Joe also leaves behind his loving siblings and their families: Peter and Kathy Konkel, Tony
and MaryAnn Konkel, Bob and Diane Konkel, Frank and Carrie Konkel and Julie Klimek.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Anna Konkel; brother-in-law, Michael Klimek; and
niece Corrine Konkel.
After graduating from High School, Joe worked many jobs to provide for his family. He had a love for
cars, tinkering on them and racing them. Joe was involved in a car accident that left him as a paraplegic
for most of his adult life, but that did not stop him from raising his daughter as a single dad and working
his bison farm. Joe also loved gunsmithing and hunting. Making many memories with friends and
family.
Although Joes physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and
uplift us.  May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all
that we do.
The family would like to Thank the many MD’s and medical providers that impacted Joes life. Special
Thanks to St Croix hospice team for their love and support on his final days on this earth. We would also
like to Thank Wozney Killian funeral home for the compassionate after life care given to Joe.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Friday May 1 st  2026, from 3 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service
beginning at 7 p.m. at Wozney- Killian Funeral Home in Arcadia. He will be interred at a later date with
Mary when that time comes.
God speed Joe, forever loved and missed.
