Karen Rae Iverson, age 82, died October 9, 2022 at the Black River Memorial Hospital with her family at
her side.
Karen was born September 14, 1940 to Vernon and Merle Amborn in Black River Falls, WI. Karen lived in
Taylor, WI and Black River Falls, WI and graduated from Black River Falls High School. She was united in
marriage to Lorren Iverson on August 22, 1960.
Through Karen’s life she worked at the Pizza Plant, Norplex, Hagen’s A&W Root Beer Stand as a car hop,
Schultz Brothers 5 & Dime, and WalMart. Karen enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers, the Green
Bay Packers, and State High School boys basketball tournaments. She always looked forward to her
‘Thursday ladies lunch day’ with her girlfriends. In her downtime she liked feeding and watching the
birds, solving crossword puzzles, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She will be deeply missed by her
family, friends, and those who knew her.
Karen is survived by her daughter Kristal (Steve) Schreiber; brothers, Verlyn “Butch” (Linda) Amborn,
Orville (Beth) Amborn, Lee (Kim) Amborn, Kevin (Howard Seiler) Amborn; sister, Marlene Taylor;
grandchildren, Chad (Jill) Haldeman, and Andrew (Ashley) Haldeman; great grandchildren, Destiny and
Graham Haldeman, and Garrett and Becca Holbert.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Merle; husband, Lorren; son, Michael; son-in-law,
Mike Haldeman; brothers, Leonard and Roger; brother-in-law, Cecil; and her companion and special four
legged friend, Jude.
Funeral services for Karen will take place Friday, October 14, 2022 at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home
at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Elden Simonson will officiate. Friends and family are invited to visitation from
10:30a.m. until time of service. Burial will immediately follow at the Sechlerville Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the Jackson County Interfaith Time For You, or the Sechlerville Cemetery
Association.
The Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements, 715-963-2312.
