Karen Johnson, a resident of Mondovi, Wisconsin, passed away at the age of 74 on April 22, 2023.
She was born on May 16, 1948, to her parents Herman and Grace Christen. Karen was a loving individual
who had a passion for family and friends. She had a heart of gold and was always there to help anyone
in need. Her unwavering kindness, generosity, and positive attitude were admired by all who knew her.
She graduated from Osseo High School. She spent most of her career working as a dietary cook at Osseo
Nursing Home and American Luther Home in Mondovi. Karen made a positive difference in the lives of
many of the seniors whom she served. During her free time, Karen enjoyed playing games on her Kindle,
baking, and keeping in touch on Facebook.
Family was everything to Karen. Karen Johnson will be forever remembered for her kindness, love, and
dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed but will always be remembered as a shining example
of unconditional love and encouragement.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Barry Olson; her niece, Tina Christen; her
grandson, Lukas Johnson; and brothers- and sister-in-law.
She is survived by her husband of almost 25 years, Robert Johnson; brothers and sister James Christen
of Chippewa Falls, Frederick (Darlene) Christen of Osseo, Gary (Judy) Christen of Strum, and Nancy
Christen of Osseo; stepsons, Craig (Jill) Johnson, Scott (Lisa) Johnson, and Rob (Courtney) Johnson; she
was a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren, Blake, Tyler, Naomi, and Jayden, whom she adored
and cherished; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at 11 AM on May 1, 2023, at the Zion Lutheran Church in
Mondovi. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 until the time of service, with a light luncheon
following.
