Larry W. Cavadini, 91, of Bangor, was called to his heavenly home on May 15, 2026, at Morrow Home in Sparta, Wisconsin. He was born on March 5, 1935, at home on County Road JB in Middle Ridge, the only son of Levi and Emma (Kneifl) Cavadini.
On November 15, 1955, Larry married the love of his life, Phyllis Mashak, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and love. They shared 70 cherished years of marriage. Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose quiet kindness and steady presence touched everyone who knew him.
Larry was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, where he attended grade school through eighth grade before graduating from Bangor High School. His faith remained an important part of his life as he served two terms on the Parish Council, sang in the church choir, and dedicated many years as a lector. He also served for 12 years on the Board of Directors for the West Salem Co-op.
Larry dedicated much of his life to farming, a career he took great pride in and one that reflected his strong work ethic and devotion to providing for his family. While farming was his life’s work, he also worked for Allis-Chalmers for three years. Some of his happiest memories were made traveling with his beloved wife, Phyllis, and dear friends to destinations including the Bahamas, Hawaii, Cancun, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures – deer hunting, gathering around the card table, and relaxing with an old western television show or cheering on the Brewers and Packers. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless pride, laughter, and joy to his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis; his son, Thomas (Sandra) Cavadini of Rockland; two grandchildren, Jason (Megan) Cavadini and Caley (Brett) Rucker; five great-grandchildren, Levi Cavadini, Milo and Alina Griswold, Alexsa, and Ellianna Rucker; sister, Jane (Dennis) Anderson; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Jerry) Borreson and Loretta (Arnold) Stremcha; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Louann) Mashak, Richard Steinhoff, Charles Mashak, and Eugene (Kenna) Mashak; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant son; his parents, Levi and Emma; his sisters, Theresa Clements, Levina Hauser and Lorraine Steinhoff; sisters-in-law, Alice Mashak, Ruth Mashak, Karen Mashak, and Evelyn Mashak; brothers-in-law, Duane Mashak, Lyle Mashak, Bernard Clements, and Paul Hauser.
