Linda C. Olson, age 68, of Hixton, died in her daughter’s home in rural Whitehall on Saturday, July 2, 2022.
Linda was born on July 26, 1953 in LaCrosse to Kenneth O. Sr. and Bertha (Brown) Olson. Linda graduated from the Blair High School before joining her father’s construction crew where she put many of the guys she worked with to shame. After that, Linda worked several jobs before working at and purchasing the family business – Rainbow Restaurant – from her mother in 2005. Linda continued to work at the restaurant until her health stopped her in the summer of 2022.
Linda enjoyed flowers and gardening, deer hunting and spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Linda was a friend to all, excelled at nurturing every child she met and had many who called her “Mom”. She is and will be missed by all who have a special place for her in their hearts.
Linda is survived by her mother, Bertha Olson; her children, Robert (Amber) Olson, Kenneth J. (Jenna) Olson, Brenda Matlock and Andrew Olson (Danasha); grandchildren, Emily (Tyler) Oser, Brianna, Tristen and Trinity Olson, Alea (Dylan) Peterson, Hunter McCutcheon, Ethan Cooper, Trentan and Bentley Herb; great-grandchildren, Bennett, Nyomi, Cora and Quinn. Linda is further survived by her siblings, Carolyn Olson (Sterling Fennell), Nancy Allen, Daniel (Darcy) Olson, Mary Olson-Back (Thomas Schiferl) and Sally (Daniel) Helgeson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth O. Olson Sr.; a brother, Kenneth O. Olson Jr.; a sister, Darlene (Toby) Waller and a grandson, Devan Olson.
Linda has been followed in death too soon by her daughter, Brenda Matlock. A Celebration of Life for Linda and Brenda will be held in the Blair Park on August 27, 2022 from 1-5 pm.
