Linda May Egeness, age 75, of rural Taylor, died on Friday, December 30, 2022 in
her home.
Linda was born on May 25, 1947, in Chicago, IL to Donald and Julia (Gnatek)
Todd. She worked in the insurance field for 40 years and was a long-time
business owner who owned the Black River Agency in Black River Falls for 27
years.
She was also a loving mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her
grandsons and enjoyed playing with them and running around the yard having
squirt gun fights. In addition to spending time with family she enjoyed taking
care of her home and yard and feeding the birds who would come near the
house.
Linda married Dennis Egeness on August 3, 1985. In addition to her husband,
Dennis, Linda is survived by two sons, Keith (Erin) Johnson of Nekoosa and
Duane (Liz) Johnson of Verona; two step-daughters, Brenda Doebber of
Champlin, MN and Cyndi Hagfors of Alexandria, MN; a step-son, Bill Egeness of
Eagle Bend, MN; six grandchildren, Collin, Cameron, Patrick, Drake, Gavin and
August Johnson; four step-grandchildren, Dustin, Heidi, Devin and Taalyr, three
step-great-grandchildren, a brother, Richard (Jan) Todd of Hertford, NC and a
brother-in-law, Sam Parla.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Parla
and a step-granddaughter, Stephanie.
Linda was strong and determined, fun and kind. She thrived despite trials and
was a very respectable woman. Linda spread joy and generosity. She was well
loved and will be missed by her many friends and family.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 1-3 p.m.
in the Hub at the Lunda Community Center in Black River Falls.
The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
