Lois Rae Suchla passed away peacefully in her sleep at 91 years old on October 4th, 2024, at
Grand View Care Center in Blair. 
Lois was born on November 6th, 1932 in rural Rusk County, Wisconsin to Steven and Kathryn
(Kennedy) Krisik. Lois grew up on a farm in Glen Flora, Wisconsin and was one of sixteen
children. She graduated from Ingram-Glen Flora High School and attended the Eau Claire State
Teachers College. Lois married Roy Paul Suchla of Independence, Wisconsin on August 8th,
1953 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Tony, Wisconsin. Together, they raised their ten
children. 
Lois was a stay-at-home mother and later worked at multiple other places, including Mississippi
River Human Services Center. She loved spending time with her family, playing card games,
going to thrift sales, bird watching, gardening, and watching Packers’ and Brewers’ games on
TV. As an avid church goer all her life, Lois rarely missed a Sunday mass and was a member of
the Rosary Society and Funeral Group.
Lois is survived by her children: Kathryn Skroch of Independence, Darlene Perkins of Oneida,
NY, Linda (Thomas) Powell of Ripon, David Suchla (Jill Knudtson) of Mondovi, Mary
(Timothy) Myers of Eau Claire, Laura Suchla (Reginald Abbott) of Derby, VT, Dawn (Wade)
Koepke of Whitehall, and Dean (Tammie) Suchla of Independence; son-in-law, Steven (Kari)
Mashak; sisters: Joan Prasnicky, Bernadette Beam, and Bonnie Boivin; brothers: Philip Krisik,
Michael Krisik, and Ronald Krisik; sister-in-law, Beatrice ‘Betty’ Suchla; grandchildren: Wayne
Paul Skroch, Rory Skroch, Derek Skroch, Ashley Clevenger, Michelle Jay, Kimberly Powell-
Stobb, Andrew Powell, Laura Gont, Kathryn Theresa Myers, Anastasia Myers, Benjamin
Mashak, Adam Mashak, Allison Koepke, and Abigail Koepke; and fifteen great-grandchildren. 
Lois is preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Roy ‘Bud’ Suchla and Theresa
Mashak; son-in-law, Wayne Skroch; siblings: James Krisik, Patrick Krisik, Frances ‘Fay’ Lazar,
Donald Krisik, Raymond Krisik, Maryann Kallstrom, Diane Simpson, Kathryn Mae Sand, and
Billy Ray Krisik in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 12th, 2024, at S.S.
Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Reverend George Thayilkuzhitottu
officiating. Family and friends are welcome to attend visitation on Friday, October 11th, from 4
to 7 p.m. at Edison Funeral Home where there will be a public prayer service beginning at 6:30
p.m., followed by the recitation of the rosary, and also one hour prior to the mass on Saturday.
