A Missouri man has been sentenced in federal court on Monday for cattle fraud scheme. This scheme included the murder of two Wisconsin men, when he tried to cover up his $215,000 fraud.

28 year-old Garland Joseph Nelson, from Braymer, Missouri was sentenced to 32 years in federal prison without parole and ordered to pay $260,925 in restitution to the victims.

Nelson is also serving two life sentences for the murders of Nicholas and Justin Diemel in another case. His federal sentence will be served consecutively to the state sentence.

In reading up on this case for more information, we came upon News writer Quinn Ritzdorf’s article from News Press Now in St. Joseph, Missouri. It is a very well written article and shows sentiment from kind folks in Missouri for the death’s of our two Wisconsin men and chronicles the fallout their family has had to go through.
