Marion M. Waldera, 93, of Arcadia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Pigeon
Falls Healthcare Center.
Marion was born on the farm in rural Arcadia on July 25, 1931, to John and Monica (Suchla) Motszko.
She was united in marriage to Severin J. Waldera on June 13, 1949, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church
where she was a lifetime member and served with the PCCW. Marion humbly volunteered during the
annual fall festivals and dutifully recited the rosary regularly. She had a strong faith and an immense
work ethic, illustrated by a lifetime of serving others. In addition to her service at church, Marion lived to
serve and provide meals to her family, friends, and neighbors. She worked in the food service industry at
various restaurants, supper clubs and drive-ins, and also ran her own catering business. She was proud
to cook and provide food for a multitude of parties including birthdays, retirements, and other
celebrations to which she poured her heart and soul into. In her later years, Marion enjoyed attending
auctions and stopping at rummage sales.
Marion is survived by her son: Gary “Wally” (Sharon) Waldera of Arcadia; daughters: Mary Kay Hagen of
Arcadia and Karen (Brian Klink) of Arcadia; daughter-in-law: Mary Ruth Waldera of Arcadia; sister: Joan
Hanson of Arcadia; brother: Dennis “Hook” Motszko of Arcadia; sister-in- law: Anita Motszko of
Galesville; 7 grandchildren: Erika (Chris) Johnson, Elizabeth (Tom) Mack, Rebecca (John) Scott, Michael
(Heather) Waldera, Ginny (Scott) Rogstad, Trisha (Alex) Thompson, and Elena (Jeremy) Rebarchek; 12
great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Severin in 2000; son, David “Smoothie” in 2020;
sister: Rosalie (Charles) Weltzien; brother: George Motszko; sister-in-law: Karen Motszko; brother-in-
law: Vilas Hanson; and many in-laws and other relatives.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Holy Family Parish
with Father Kyle Laylan officiating. Family and friends are welcome for visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.
at Wozney-Killian Funeral Home prior to the procession to mass on Wednesday. Burial will be in St.
