Mark R. Cormack, 72, of Independence, died on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Hope Stay in
Holmen under the care of Mayo Clinic Hospice.
Mark was born on August 30, 1951, in Detroit, MI to Eric and Barbara (McLeod) Cormack. After
graduating from high school, Mark enlisted into the United States Navy and served during the
Vietnam era, being honorably discharged in 1973. Mark was employed with the Parker-Hannifin
Company for over 37 years until his retirement in 2014. He was united in marriage to Sue
Kvittem on April 15, 2011, though the couple began dating in 1994. Together they enjoyed
traveling, antiquing, and collecting English Coronation China and Stoneware. Mark also enjoyed
listening to Rock n’ Roll music, fishing, kayaking and camping with his kids in his younger years.
Mark is survived by his wife: Sue of Independence; children: Tricia (Paul) Waibel of Freeland,
WA, Ryan (Cassie) Cormack of Dallas, GA, Scott (Sarah) Cormack of Dallas, GA, and Andrew
(Alynna) Cormack of Orlando, FL; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers: Kevin
Cormack of Canton, MI, and Kirk Cormack of Forest Hill, TX; his “Bro”: Dan Mickey of Smyrna,
TN; and his dog: Seger.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved aunt, Linda.
