Mary Patricia “Pat” Jean Molitor, 84, formerly of Holmen/Whitehall, died on Thursday, August 17, 2023,
at the Trempealeau County Healthcare Center, rural Whitehall.
Pat was born in North Dakota on June 8, 1939, to Peter and Frances (Brown) Karlinsky. After graduating
from high school in Mandan, ND, Pat’s family moved to Blair to own and operate the local bakery, where
Pat excelled at decorating cakes. Pat was united in marriage on October 21, 1957 to John “Jack” Molitor
at St. John’s Catholic Church in Whitehall. Pat was employed for many years for Tri-City Sanitation until
her retirement. She was a devout Catholic her entire life and was a member at St. John’s in Whitehall
and St. Elizabeth’s in Holmen when she was a resident there. She appreciated her time with her family
and friends, and held special bonds with her nieces and nephews. In her spare time, Pat enjoyed
knitting, crocheting, and quilting projects that she would donate to local churches and fundraisers.
Pat is survived by her sister: Bonnie (Ramon Kohnert) Kindschy of Whitehall; nephews: Dean (Jane)
Kindschy, Kent (Deb) Kindschy, Peter Osborne, David Osborne, and Travis (Sue) Osborne; nieces: Kelli
(Rob) Schmitt and Laurel Grey; and many other great-nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Jack in 1989; and sister: Katherine “Cookie”
Osborne.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation from 2-5 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Edison
Funeral Home, Independence, where there will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. with Father George
Thayilkuzhithottu officiating. Pat will be interred in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse, at a later date. To
