Mary Pearl Block, after celebrating her 100th birthday on May 21, 2021 died peacefully at her residence at the Pineview Care Center in Black River Falls Wednesday June 2, 2021.

She was born May 21, 1921 in Millston WI to William and Pearl (Willson) Martin. She married Harry Rynard Block in 1940 in Waukon, Iowa. He preceded her in death February 20, 1977. She was a stay-at-home mom who loved her family dearly. She was a long-time member of Trinity Evengelical Lutheran Church in Millston.

Mary loved to follow trends, her kitchen went from loud orange with white trim to the forever popular Avocado Green. She was a flamboyant individual who loved her glitter and bling, as AVON was one of her best friends. She enjoyed embroidering items like table clothes and pillow cases. She loved listening to records, especially country western singers like Loretta Lynn and Johnny Cash. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving Mary are her sons Alfred D. Block and Rynard W. Block; her daughters Pearl Ann, Carol Lynn and Rosemary as well as 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry; her parents; her daughter Jeanette Louise Block and two half-brothers Walter Martin and Clarence Martin.

Funeral Services for Mary will be Wednesday June 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Jensen- Modjeski Funeral Home, 128 N. Hoffman St., in Hixton. Pastor Elden Sorensen will officiate. A private burial in Brookside Cemetery in Millston WI will take place at a later date. Friends may call on the family during a Visitation, Wednesday June 9, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the service at the funeral home in Hixton.
