Mary “Toots” Tulius, 98, of Waumandee, died on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Gundersen Tri-
County Hospital in Whitehall.
Mary was born on July 4, 1928, to Mike and Minnie (Schmidtknecht) Benusa. After graduating
from high school, Mary was united in marriage to Edward Tulius on August 5, 1948, at St.
Boniface Catholic Church in Waumandee. Together the couple raised two sons: Mike and
Patrick. Mary was employed as a secretary/payroll associate with various companies including
Trane and the La Crosse Tribune. In her younger years, Mary enjoyed knitting, playing cards and
spending time with her friends and family.
Mary is survived by her sons: Mike Tulius of Galesville and Patrick (Jean) Tulius of Blair;
grandchildren: Heather Rossow, Brian (Laura), and Edward (Becky) Tulius; great-grandchildren:
Cole Rossow, Tavien, Alec, and Hunter Tulius, Ella Knutson, Bailey, Brook, and Kylie Tulius; and
many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 21, 2026, at St. Boniface
Catholic Church in Waumandee with Father Albert officiating. Family and friends are welcome
for visitation from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home
in Arcadia where there will be a public rosary recited at 7 PM, and also one hour prior to Mass
at church on Friday. Burial will be in the church cemetery. To express condolences to her family
