Michael “Mike” G. O’Dair, 72 died on Sunday, March 31, at Agrace Hospice in Madison. On March 11, 1952, Mike was born to Donald and Marie (Deters) O’Dair in Madison, Wisconsin. Mike began working for his father’s business at the age of 11 and continued to work as a meatcutter and then drywaller until his retirement in 2014. Mike wed the love of his life Julie in 1990. He was a faithful member of the St. Michael’s congregation of Indian Creek where he appreciated not only the church but especially it’s loving community and rich history. Mike was also a member of the Tomah Knights of Columbus chapter. His other loves were hunting, playing the banjo, spending time at the cabin and traveling in their RV. He loved the mountains and traveled to them as often as possible. Mike will be missed and remembered by all that knew him as a very hard worker and a realist. He was happy to share his wisdom, which always paired well with a Lake Louie.

Mike is survived by his wife, Julie O’Dair; his children: Cheri (Michael) Ish of West Bend, Michael (Katie) O’Dair of Bellville, and Christopher O’Dair of Belleville; his 4 sisters: Peggy (Michael) Pomeroy of Poynette, Patty (Eric) Beyler of Madison, Diane (Steve) Lund of Madison, and Eileen (Mark) O’Connor of Battle Ground, Washington; his sisters-in-law Joanne (Jeff) Kozloski of Pahrump, Nevada, Coreen (Dan) Oradei of Sun Prairie, and Lori (Bob) Braam of Deforest; brother in law Mike (Jacquie) Caravello of Brooklyn; his 11 grandchildren; his 1 great grandchild; his sweet baby girl Wreni and many relatives, friends and bluegrass pickers.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Matthew O’Dair; his sister, Mary Newton, her husband Greg and his beloved in-laws Mary and Loren Weiss whom he lovingly cared for during each of their final journeys.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, 12:00 Noon at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 18316 County Hwy N, Tomah, WI 54660 (Indian Creek). Father Peter Raj Mariasamy will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the church cemetery.
