Michael Anthony Greengrass, 41, of Hixton, WI passed away tragically on December 29, 2020 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born March 22, 1979 in La Crosse, WI to Richard and Karla (Greengrass) Snake.

Growing up in the Black River Falls area, Michael was a “country” boy, but enjoyed the finer things in life, like namebrand clothing. He loved the outdoors, going hiking or taking long nature walks. He also loved to fish. Michael worked hard as a self-employed handyman and was always trying to improve himself. He was also into traditional Indian beadwork and was known for his fried bread, which he loved making.

Michael had a loving soul, always with a smile on his face. He was very sociable and loved being around people and was always the one to make everyone laugh. Above all else, Michael loved his family. His kids were his whole world.

Michael is survived by his wife, Autumn Greengrass; daughters Marcella Greengrass, Priscilla Greengrass, Arianna Holbach, and Alivia Holbach; sisters, Julie (Ramiro) Rodriquez, Jamie Kaquatosh, and Melody Greengrass; one brother Vance White; and 18 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Renata White; brother, Vincent Kaquatosh; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 1, 2021 at the Mission Community Center, W8813 Mission Road, Black River Falls. Burial will follow in the Decorah Cemetery, Township of Komensky. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Buswell Funeral Home, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Community Center on Friday.

The Buswell Funeral Home, 106 S. Second Street, Black River Falls, is assisting the family with arrangements.
