Milwaukee Fire Chief Aaron Lipski says the city’s northwest side is left without coverage every time his firefighters are called to the former Northridge Mall. Crews have responded four times to the vacant mall property in less than a month. Lipski says something needs to be done about security at the site and he refuses to put his firefighters at risk anymore. He says the mall building should have been torn down a long time ago. The mall was sold to a Chinese investment group 14 years ago and there are still no plans for the property. A Milwaukee County judge reversed an order to tear down the structure.
