We are heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, Nathan Henry Burke, on August 1, 2026 at the age of 36 due to a tragic car accident that has left an unfillable void in our hearts.
Nathan was born on September 28, 1989 to Roger and Carolyn (Huber) Burke. He was a devoted son, father of three, brother, and friend.
At the age of 16, Nathan was diagnosed with a brain condition which resulted in having a surgery that left him with a traumatic brain injury.
Nathan lived a life defined by quiet grace, a kind heart, a joyful spirit, and a deep appreciation for the simplest moments of everyday life, which will never be forgotten.
While he was never one to seek the spotlight, his steady presence, love for fishing, playing chess and cribbage, making origami, and his warm heart left a lasting impression on everyone who truly knew him.
Nathan was an observer of the world who found profound comfort in having an independent spirit. His independence was his hallmark.
The depth of our love for Nathan is matched only by the profound grief of losing him.
He is preceded in death by his aunts, Lori (Huber) Lentz and Susan Huber; uncle, Richard Huber; grandmother, Betty Burke; and grandfathers Gerald Huber and Paul Leaird
He is survived by his parents, Roger and Carolyn (Huber) Burke; sister, Nicole (Kevin); two nieces, Alexandra and Adrianna; grandparents, Lois Leaird and David and Karen Keelin; and countless family members and friends who loved him deeply.
Nathan’s family prays he has found lasting peace and they will remember his love of life, his wisdom, immense humor, and generosity. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Torgerson Funeral Home, Black River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
