Norman “Norm” Herman affectionately known as “Stormin Norman” age 90 of Whitehall,
Wisconsin passed away peacefully on April 26th 2026 in Plum City Wisconsin, surrounded by his
loving family.
Norm was born on June 5th 1935 in Whitehall, to Rudolph & Lillian Herman. He spent his life
deeply rooted in the community he loved, while also embracing opportunities that took him far
beyond it.
A man of many talents and passions, Norm developed a love for music at a young age that would
shape much of his life. After graduating high school he proudly served his country in the United
States Army. Following his service, he pursued his passion for music alongside his brother
Ralph, and together they founded the beloved band, The Rhythm Playboys, bringing joy and
entertainment to countless audiences.
Norm furthered his career by attending Brown Institute for Broadcasting, launching a successful
and dynamic journey in radio. Over the years he shared his voice and personality with listeners at
stations including WAXX, WRDN, WWIB, KMWB and WHTL before eventually retiring.
Known for his warm personality and infectious energy, Norm loved people and had a gift for
entertaining, whether through music, conversation, or storytelling, he brought light into the lives
of those around him. He was an avid supporter of his favorite sports team, a proud patriot who
loved his country, and a lifelong music enthusiast.
Norm is survived by his 5 children, Ramona, Candace, Sondra, Sheba and Eric; as well as his
numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of love
laughter and resilience.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Luizella “Lu” (Kvistad) Herman; his parents
Rudolph and Lillian Herman his brother Ralph and his great grandson Treye Williams.
Norms life was a testament to his passions, service and connection. He will be deeply missed by
all who knew him, but his spirit will live on through his music, his stories and the many lives he
touched.
His Celebration of Life will be held May 8th at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Pleasantville
Wisconsin at 11am. Food will be served afterwards
