November is a time to show support, celebrate and honor the caregivers in our lives during National Family Caregiver Month. While they should be celebrated every day, this month allows us to focus on them and acknowledge that caregiving is an around the clock, and at most times unpaid, vital job that many in our country provide every day to keep loved ones in their homes for as long as possible. This month is also about raising awareness of the issues that family caregivers face, including the emotional and physical toll it can have, and reducing those feelings of isolation that many face due to their circumstances. Let’s all work and come together to show them they are not alone and that there is a community that is here to help. As a small token of appreciation, we invite all caregivers in Jackson County to join us on Thursday, November 9 th at 12:00pm for a light lunch, short movie, and conversation as we celebrate you! We will be showing the movie SPARK, a film about actor Robin Williams and his battle with undiagnosed Lewy Body Dementia. This event will take place in the HUB at the Lunda Community Center in Black River Falls, WI. While an RSVP is not required to attend, it is greatly appreciated so we can best plan for food. If you are able, please contact the ADRC at 715-284-3978.
