With significant rainfall over the past few days, creeks and smaller rivers began to rise overnight.  Some locations impacted include Arcadia, Black River Falls, Alma Center, Taylor, Hixton, Merrillan, Blair, Fountain City, Ettrick, Millston and Hatfield.

There is also a flood warning in effect until Sunday, with moderate flooding expected from the Black River in Black River Falls. At midnight, the stage was 43.02 ft, bankfull state is 43.00 ft.  The river will rise above flood stage this morning, to 52.50 ft by tomorrow morning, It will rise to 54.0 feet Friday morning, and is expected to fall below flood stage on Saturday.  Flood State is 47 ft.  A Reminder…stay safe, do not drive through moving water…turn around, don’t drown.

Some area roads affected include County N&H in the town of Irving, in Trempealeau County, County Rd C near Joe Coulee is closed and the road is starting to give out, County Rd T from Frenchville to Oak Ridge Dr is closed, and County Rd at County Road DD.
