(Milwaukee, WI) — The line of police cars that accompanied Milwaukee Police Office Peter Jerving to his grave stretched for miles. Fellow officers from across the state turned out to say a final goodbye to Jerving yesterday. His funeral was in Brookfield, and he was laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Jerving was killed last week while trying to arrest a robbery suspect. Police say the suspect, who had just been released on probation, shot and killed Jerving during a struggle. The suspect was shot and killed by a second officer.
