Tracye G Campbell, 36 years of age, from Madison, WI has been arrested by the Wisconsin State
Patrol DeForest Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 4th offense.
At approximately 11:28 pm on Sunday, August 4, 2024, a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper attempted
to initiate a traffic stop on E. Broadway and Edna Taylor Parkway. The driver of the vehicle refused
to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The vehicle fled westbound on the Beltline at triple-digit
speeds, exiting onto Park Street. In the interest of public safety, the trooper terminated his pursuit
when the vehicle fled into Madison. A short time later, local police agencies located the vehicle and
re-engaged in a pursuit. The local agencies were successful in deploying tire deflation devices, and
the vehicle was pursued eastbound on the Beltline from Rimrock Road. The vehicle exited at
Broadway and was involved in a minor collision with an uninvolved motorist, then continued
eastbound on the Beltline again. The vehicle eventually came to rest on the ramp at Monona Road
and the Beltline. The 36-year-old female driver was taken into custody for felony fleeing and
eluding, OWI 4th offense (felony), and several traffic offenses. Other charges may be pending.
