An Illinois man was arrested on Saturday night after a high-speed chase and drug bust in Monroe County. The incident began just before 10 p.m. on November 16th, when a Monroe County Sergeant observed a 2021 Audi speeding at 100 mph on I-94 near Oakdale. The vehicle, driven by 43-year-old Ivran Galmore of Illinois, was pulled over for the violation.
During the stop, the Sergeant noticed signs of drug use and, after further questioning, Galmore attempted to flee the scene. He ran from the deputies, got back into his car, and led officers on a two-mile pursuit before crashing his vehicle. After the crash, Galmore fled on foot but was quickly apprehended with the help of Monroe County K-9 Rebel, who was deployed during the foot chase.
A search of the vehicle and the area where Galmore fled uncovered a significant amount of illegal drugs—3 kilograms (approximately 8.5 pounds) of cocaine and over 30 grams of marijuana, worth an estimated $300,000 on the street. The crash also caused injuries to Galmore’s passenger, who later told authorities he had grabbed the steering wheel to force the crash, fearing involvement in the pursuit.
Galmore was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained during his arrest but was later transported to Monroe County Jail. He faces several charges, including possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of THC, fleeing an officer, reckless endangerment, and multiple speeding offenses.
At his bond hearing on Monday, District Attorney Kevin Croninger requested a $100,000 cash bond due to the seriousness of the charges and Gilmore’s prior drug dealing history. Judge Rick Radcliffe agreed, setting the bond at $100,000.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Tomah Police Department, and Tomah Ambulance.
