Robert A. Dascher, 75, of Strum and formerly of Buffalo City, passed away unexpectedly on December
17, 2020, at his home.
Bob was born in Arcadia on December 9, 1945, to Norman and Beatrice (Wivelstad) Dascher. He
enlisted and served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1966. Prior to enlistment, he was united in
marriage to his wife, Mary Slaby, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Arcadia. Together the couple was
blessed with five children. Mary preceded Bob in death in 1986. Later, Bob was united in marriage to
Dianne Phillips, and to this union he welcomed his step-daughter, Shannon, and her children to his
family.
From a young age, Bob had a profound love and appreciation for the outdoors, from hunting and
gardening to fishing and boating. He was able to build a successful logging and lumber company along
with farming at home, allowing him to spend most of his time outside. Even in his retirement, he was
always keeping busy. He loved to travel to visit his family, and was very proud of each of his children
and grandchildren. This was evident in the fun they shared while camping and boating. Bob was an avid
gun collector and was a Chevy Corvette enthusiast. His quick wit, humor and little quirks will be missed
especially by his family. May we hold tight to the good times and our fond memories of “Gamps”.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Deanna Reisch of Florida; sons: Robert J. (Kendra) of Buffalo City, Rick
(Jerri “Push” Schrieber) of Cochrane, Jason (Kari) of Georgetown, KY, and Justin Dascher of Red Wing,
MN; 10 grandchildren: Christian, Isabella, and Juliet Reisch, Reese, Kyra, Gregory, Max, Addison, Carter
and Scarlett Dascher; sister Colleen (Linus) Kujak of Onalaska; brother: John (Sherry Severson) Dascher
of Strum; step-daughter: Shannon (Mark) Henjy; and step-grandchildren: Chase, Caitlyn, and AJ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; sisters: LaVonne Poetzel and Marilyn Sobieck; and
brother: Dallas Dascher.
Due to circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, a graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m.
on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Arcadia, with Father Sebastian
Kolodziejczyk officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to “Family Wishes”. To
