Royal Peterson, 91, passed away on Friday, August 15 th , 2025, at Dove Healthcare in
Osseo, Wisconsin. He was born May 22 nd , 1934, to Edwin and Hazel (Johnson)
Peterson in the town of Franklin, Jackson County, Wisconsin.
Royal grew up in the Town of Franklin and graduated in 1952 from Melrose High
School. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army. Following his service,
Royal returned to Hixton, Wisconsin, where he lived with his twin brother, Royce.
Royal worked as a haul truck driver for Wilber Trucking in Arcadia, Wisconsin, for over
thirty years until he retired at the age of 81.
Royal enjoyed going to coffee, visiting with people, and working outside. He and his twin
brother were also members of the Upper Beaver Creek Lutheran Church and helped
maintain the cemetery there.
Royal is survived by his nieces and nephews, Aaron Peterson, Wayne (Diana)
Peterson, JoAnn (David) Frahm, Becky (Jason) Baker, and Valerie Peterson, many
great-nieces and great-nephews, his close friend Stacy Goldsmith, and many other
relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Hazel; his brothers, Royce, Vernon,
Marls “Mike”, Roger, and Ammet; and his nephew Edward Peterson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 23 rd , 2025, at the Upper Beaver Creek
Lutheran Church in the Town of Franklin, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 10:00
a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow immediately after in the
church cemetery with military honors.
