From a statement from the Chippewa Falls Police Department Facebook Page:
“These two individuals were walking downtown Chippewa Falls and approached various businesses and citizens selling small candy bars. They claimed the money would go to a non-profit organization out of Chicago. We confirmed with the non-profit organization this is 100% a scam.
The individual in the black jacket has been identified, but we were still looking to identify the individual in the light-colored jacket wearing glasses. If you know this individual, please contact Investigator Lawcewicz by calling 715-726-2706, privately messaging our Facebook page, or submitting a Chippewa County Crime Stoppers tip. There are criminal charges pending for these individuals.”
