Selina Doris Joshua passed from this earth on November 4, 2023, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, at the
age of 85.
Selina was born to Westley and Ethelene (Free) Bradford on August 11, 1938, in Winnebago, Nebraska.
Selina attended high school in Black River Falls and later studied college in Chicago. Selina worked for
over 20 years at the Indian Health Service as a contract specialist, followed 15 years of service with the
Ho-Chunk tribal court.
Selina later moved to Tyonek, Alaska with her husband for 20 years where she met the father of her
children, Seraphim Stephen. Selina was a pillar of her community, helping at fundraisers and assisting
others in any way possible. In her free time Selina loved to play bingo and solve Sudoku puzzles.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Jenny Ann) Anthony and daughter Michaelene (Nial Masuda)
Stephan; brothers William Youngthunder and Robert Mudd; sisters Patricia Youngthunder, Anna
Reichenbach, Gloria Ward, Jean Mudd, and Sandy Lanier; grandchildren Billy Gene Stephan, Toni
Bismark, Bradford (Janelle) Stephan, Sally Stephan, Robert (Christy) Jr., Wesley, Brian (Brittany) Masuda,
Nial Masuda Jr., and Seraphim Stephan Jr.; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jennie and Mary Ellen Allowan, her sons Seraphim
Jr., Wesley, and Benjamin Stephan and daughter Cindy Poss.
Funeral Services will be held at the Buswell Funeral Home, 106 S 2 nd Street, in Black River Falls on
Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 12 p.m. Clayton Winneshiek will officiate with burial to follow at
Decorah Cemetery. Friends may call on the family during the visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to
the service.
