At 5:20 pm August 1st, Taylor Fire Department and Taylor First Responders were paged to a hog barn fully engulfed. Crews quickly arrived and requested mutual aid from Blair-Preston, Hixton, Black River Falls, Alma Center, Humbird, Merrillan, and Melrose Fire Departments. Rescue 4 and Battalion 2 were also on scene assisting the departments. The crews worked hard for multiple hours and were able to knock down the fire. Fortunately, there were no pigs in the barn at the time of the fire. All departments were safely back in service at approximately 9:10pm.
