Shirley Ann Kolve, age 77 of Eleva, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly in the
morning hours of Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Care Partners in Altoona, Wisconsin.
She was born on August 6, 1948, at home in Maxville, Wisconsin, the daughter of
Andrew and Odelia (Scott) Jamison. She grew up in Durand, Wisconsin and Nelson,
Wisconsin. She attended the Durand School District and graduated from Mondovi High
School.
Shirley dedicated her life to her home and children. As a stay-at-home mom, of nine
children, she always found the time to ensure the children were well-clothed, fed and
loved. Even in later years, as dementia began to take hold, she still wanted to be kept
up to date on her family and their lives. She was always eager to hear how each and
every one of them was doing. She enjoyed sharing stories of the past and listening to
their new stories and adventures. Throughout her life, Shirley enjoyed raising dogs and
had a special bond with her dog, Gemma.
She loved gardening and spending time outdoors. She missed the days she spent
picking fresh fruits and vegetables from her own garden – especially tomatoes. She will
be remembered for her sun brewed tea and her love for asparagus hunting. She also
enjoyed sipping her morning coffee and listening to country music.
She is survived by her children: Ricky (Wendy) Ashwell of Strum, WI, Jamie (Mike
Murphy) Leis of Tomah, WI, Karie (Steve) Weidl of Sparta, WI, David Kolve Jr., Dustin
(Amber) Kolve, Derek Kolve, Devin (Jordan) Kolve, Dannon (Ashley Bentzen) Kolve and
Davis Kolve all of Northfield, WI; her brother, Clifford Jamison of Arkansaw, Wisconsin;
her grandchildren: Cameron (Chelsey), Courtney, Bradley (Katrina), Brandon (Ashley),
Kayla, Erica, Adam, Allison, Ashley, Bo, Cody, Ella, Dalton, Wyatt, Josie, Kenley,
Westin, Jaxx, Lani, Evelyn, Memphis Reighs, Jadien and Kiley. Numerous great-
grandchildren, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
She is proceeded in death by parents, Andrew and Odelia (Scott) Jamison; four
brothers, ten sisters; Sister- in-law, Loretta; and grandchildren, “Lil” Brian Ashwell, Tyler
Anderson, and Drew Kolve.
Shirley was outgoing and cared deeply for everyone in her life. She will be deeply
missed by all who knew and loved her.
