Three Midwestern lottery players are celebrating big wins following a record-setting Powerball drawing on April 29th.

Richard Romans of Milwaukee claimed a one-million-dollar prize, while John Kimball of Ironwood, Michigan, and Richard Salzwedel of Sparta each won two million dollars after adding the Power Play option.

Lottery officials say the drawing produced an unusually high number of winners nationwide, with dozens of tickets matching all five white balls. In total, 91 players across the country won one million dollars or more.

Officials believe the spike in winners may be linked to how players selected numbers on playslips, as all five winning numbers appeared in the same column.

Meanwhile, the $143 million jackpot from that drawing was split between winners in Indiana and Kansas. Just days later, another jackpot was split between Florida and Texas—marking the first back-to-back jackpot wins this year.

Powerball drawings are held three times a week, with tickets costing two dollars, or three with the Power Play option.
