Shirley Mae Zinn, 87, of Taylor, WI, passed away peacefully Oct. 24, 2024, surrounded by her
loving family. She was born May 24, 1937, in Hebron, ND, the daughter of Gustave and Emma
Ding. Shirley graduated from Hebron High in 1955. After graduating, she joined her siblings in
Milwaukee, WI. This is where she met and fell in love with Raymond Zinn. They married Feb. 8,
1956, eventually settling in Taylor, WI, where they would raise their family.
     She dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her four children and
husband of 11 years, until his passing on Feb. 15, 1967. After Ray’s passing, Shirley met the
man she would consider her “Loving Significant Other,” Harris Bersing. They had 55 wonderful
great years together. Her warm heart opened her doors to many families in the Taylor
community, providing a safe and loving daycare for many children.
     Shirley was the heart of our home and family. She is survived by her loving significant other,
Harris Bersing; sons Eric (Shirl) Zinn and Alan Zinn; daughters Gail O’Brien and Linda (Dick)
Matti; sisters Ramona (George) Bink and Phyllis (Rudy) Auch; brother Steven (Julie) Ding;
grandchildren Amanda Olson, Jordan (Karine) Zinn, Jared (Marisa) Zinn, Dillion (Brooke) Zinn,
Joleen Matti, Casey (Lisa) Matti, Anthony (Tracy) Matti, Richie O’Brien, Natasha O’Brien, Jason
Zinn, Rachel (Scott) Miller, Jennifer Wagner, Sheila (Chris) Murray and Jason (Kelly) Spurlin;
and a loving great-grandma of 23 great-grandchildren that have blessed her heart.
     Shirley was loved and will be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews. 
     Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Gustave Ding; mother Emma Ding; sister Arlie
Zinn; and brothers Roger and Gus Ding.
            A luncheon celebrating Shirley Zinn’s life will be held at the Taylor Community Center,
420 2nd Street, Taylor WI, Nov. 9, 2024. from 1-5 p.m. Join the family in celebrating her life with
all your great memories of her.
